Once again, Karim Benzema emerged as Real Madrid’s hero with two quick goals in the final minutes to put the game to bed. Real Madrid was awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute, which Benzema converted coolly. In the 89th minute, Eduardo Camavinga found Benzema free in the box, and he finished to double their lead. Benzema had a golden opportunity earlier but missed the target from a very close distance.
Real Madrid managed to edge past Real Valladolid with two goals in the final minutes. Even though they won, the hosts didn’t make it easy for them, as constant counter-attacks posed a threat to the Real Madrid goal. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made some incredible saves to keep them in the game. However, Benzema’s brace sealed the deal for Los Blancos, closing the gap between them and Barcelona.
