In the UEFA Champions League Group G action, Sevilla hosted the Austrian side RB Salzburg at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams taking a point each. Both goals of the match were scored via a penalty, with Luka Sucic opening the scoring sheet for Salzburg and Rakitic for Sevilla. The game had a total of four penalties being awarded during the entirety of the match. Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri was sent off in the second half as the home side were reduced to 10 men.
