Sevilla v Cadiz – Betting Preview

Sevilla Summary

The mood is nervous and desperate at Sevilla who is stuck in 19th and still embroiled in a relegation battle they never wanted or expected this season.

They failed to build momentum from the previous win over Getafe by taking the lead only to lose 2-1 in Girona last weekend.

It is important to note that the team spirit and dressing room are united in the club, and the players seem to be behind the boss for now. Despite inconsistent results, Sevilla has almost always shown good levels of commitment and desire to compete and win games.

Montiel and Carmona return from a suspension. Sampaoli has called up a big 22-man Squad but will need to make some cuts from that.

Ajax loan signing Lucas Ocampos is itching to make his debut having made the squad, while Januzaj is left out by manager decision.

Cadiz Summary

Cadiz comes into the match in a positive mood but far from perfect after being held by basement club Elche on Monday night.

It was a disappointing result to not win after a huge confidence-boosting win over Valencia the prior league match. They are determined to win this match and move away from the relegation zone and ahead of fellow strugglers Sevilla.

Manager Sergio González is missing Fede San Emeterio who is out with a ban.

has numerous absences but none are new, meaning Cadiz could go unchanged from the deserved and impressive win against Valencia.

Jon Ander Garrido, Joseba Zaldua, Jose Mari, Juan Cala, and Víctor Chust are missing with injuries. Of these Zaluda and Chust are noted as definite starters when available. However, Zaldua like Jose Mari is not expected back this season.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first, where the favourite for this game is Sevilla @ 1.82.  The home side is better on paper but in reality, Cadiz is a hardworking and more disciplined side, so I would avoid betting on the favourite here. Cadiz is @ 5.10 to win while the draw is @ 3.75.

Moving onto the Asian handicap market for this contest. Sevilla is giving up a -0.75 @ 1.93 start, and this is flattering based on how inconsistent and unreliable they are this season. Cadiz was excellent at Valencia a couple of weeks ago and that kind of performance here would see them beat this handicap easily. Cadiz +0.75 @ 1.95 is a preference.

Looking at The Under/Over market last of all which is set at 2.25. The Over is @ 1.87 and the Under is @ 1.95. The visitor will try to sit back and frustrate Sevilla and their fans. They are good on breaks but this is a game that will need an early goal to open up. Ideally for those keen on the Over, the game needs Sevilla scoring first, something to keep in mind if betting goals in running.
