Almeria vs Real Betis – Betting Preview

Almeria Summary

Almería fell to a defeat against Rayo Vallecano last weekend and as a result, are sitting on the same number of points as 18th-placed Cadiz before any matches have begun in this round.

There is big pressure on them after positive results of sides beneath them in the division over the weekend.

They are sitting just above the drop zone, but they know a win could see them make an important step toward safety.

Rubi is missing the important midfielder Lucas Robertone and striker Leo Baptistao, the former is a key part of the Almeria squad and so team news is significantly negative.

Dyego Sousa trained normally on Friday and so on a positive note, the physio room is now empty for the struggling home side.

The local media are expected at least two unforced moves in the side on the back of the loss to Rayo on Monday night.

Real Betis Summary

Real Betis have lost back-to-back home games in the league and see themselves now on a decline down La Liga, losing vital ground in rivals for the top six places.

The loss to runaway leaders Barcelona in a close in the midweek game was acceptable, but to drop all three points to Celta Vigo last weekend, a club fighting relegation, was a massive blow to Betis’ hopes of making the top four. As a result there is added pressure to compensate for that loss and win here.

Real Betis’ mood and confidence are harmed by the 4-3 home defeat to Celta but generally, spirits are positive. Furthermore, they have shown character and belief to bounce back from bad results, and that is the aim here.

Pellegrini is however dealing with three suspensions; the holding midfielder William Carvalho is serving his 2nd of a 3-game ban. While both Luiz Felipe and Fekir are also now suspended and missing, along with injured fringe men Juan Cruz and Paul Akouokou.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. The slight favourite for this game is Real Betis @ 2.55. The home side is fairly attractive @ 2.92, while the draw is @ 3.30.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. So close is the betting between these two well-matched sides, the Draw now bet  (DNB) is offered as a cushion. So a bet on either Almeria -0 @ 2.10 or Real Betis -0 @ 1.78 would see the full stake returned should it end as a draw.

Looking at The Under/Over goal line last of all which leaves the Over 2.25 quite attractive @ 1.81. the line has however dropped down from 2.5, indicating that most punters were not keen on goals in this match. Both clubs are keen to play on the front foot and neither defends well. There is a sense too that neither respect the other much, which often helps for an open match. Under 2.25 @ 2.02.
