Arsenal v Sporting Lisbon – UEL Betting Preview

Arsenal Summary

Arsenal comes into this Europa league game on a massive high after a stunning showing against Fulham on the weekend.

The 0-3 win away in West London was hailed by many as their strongest performance of the season.

Another significant boost from the weekend for Arsenal was that star man Gabriel Jesus returned after a long spell out.

The Premier League is undoubtedly their focus and priority for the north London club this season, but they are aware of damaging momentum should they get knocked out of this competition.

The mood in Arsenal is superb right now and forgotten is the mini setback they had with losses to Manchester City and Everton at Goodison park.

The North Londoners are expected to make some moves but probably won’t rest any key men. Gabriel Jesus could get a half hour or so in the second period to further his return to match fitness.

Nkteiah is a big doubt but with the attack looking so strong on the weekend, this is no longer a big concern, especially with Gabriel Jesus back.

Sporting Lisbon

Sporting Lisbon travel to EPL leaders Arsenal in this second-leg tie with real hope and belief that they can shock the tournament and progress from the contest.

Sporting pushed Arsenal very hard in the first leg which ended 2-2. This has given them the confidence of making this an equally tough match for the high flying London club.

Sporting Lisbon is highly rated in this competition and has reached this round of the UEFA Europa four times.

The league form is respectable but they are well off the title race.

They have won their last four games in the league but sitting just outside the 3rd spot which gives them a shot at qualifying for next season’s UCL competition.

The confidence is good based on league form however, they sit 15 points behind runaway leader Benfica who leads the title race in Portugal.

Looking at team news for Sporting Lisbon, boss Rúben Amorim is missing several players for the game at the Emirates.

Braganca is the only notable injury concern, he will miss out with a knee problem.

They do however travel with two men suspended, missing Coates and Japan’s Mortia.
