Cadiz v Rayo Vallecano – Betting Preview
Cadiz Summary
Cadiz fell 2-0 away in Barcelona last weekend but gave a decent account of themselves. And even though the champions elect had a weakened side, there was still nothing expected of Cadiz who retain positive mood.
This match is very different however and Cadiz need to go for the victory, particularly with Getafe having won last Monday night. This result sent them back into the drop zone, sitting 18th before the round has started.
Cadiz have won three from their last five matches at home and will fancy their chances against Rayo Vallecano, even though the opponent is flying high in the La Liga 2022/23 table right now.
Sergio González has mixed team news but its more so on the negative side due to key attacking absences.
Alfonso Espino the important left back returns but their influential and inform left winger Brian Ocampo has been ruled out.
Ocampo is a powerful and quick left sided winger and at the heart of much of their best chances and goals. Alex Fernandez will replace, an attacking midfielder but without pace and well below average in the league, a significant reduction for the host.
Centre forward Negredo also didn’t train and was all but ruled out on Friday
Jon Ander Garrido, Joseba Zaldua, Jose Mari, Juan Cala, and Víctor Chust are missing with injuries. Of these Zaluda and Chust are noted as starters when available.
Rayo Vallecano Summary
Rayo Vallecano is enjoying a great positive season and their spirit and confidence are strong.
Rayo occupies a highly impressive sixth position and if they can better the Real Betis result this weekend, they will move into 5th position.
On a minor negative for the visitor here, they come into the match with Cadiz on the back of slightly disappointing draws in the last two games. Firstly away in Getafe and then last weekend, at home to a struggling Sevilla.
They will try to go for the win here because if they seriously want to be in the top six come the end of the season, it’s the type of match they should be winning.
Rayo has good team news with boss Iraola able to call his entire squad.
The expectations based on their training this week that the boss makes one or two offensive alterations.
Raul De Tomas played very well against Sevilla and it is between he and Camelo to lead the attack.
