The club quickly moved to appoint Jose Luis Mendilibar who takes his first game in charge in Cadiz. He is an experienced manager that will demand and receive immediate respect from the squad.
The former Osasuna and Eibar boss among other clubs will almost certainly bring an uplift in the discipline and effort in the Sevilla team.
He is not known for playing entertaining or expansive football, which the fans won’t worry about just yet. Mendilibar’s focus will be the team showing aggression, organisation and being more committed than the opponent.
Sevilla is above the drop zone on 28 points, but far from safe as there is just a two-point gap between them and 18th place Valencia.
