Getafe vs Espanyol – Betting Summary
Getafe Summary
Getafe hasn’t begun 2023 in the way they would have liked, dropping out of the cup 3-2 to Levante and then dropping 2-1 to fellow strugglers Sevilla last time out in the league.
Getafe’s mood and confidence are unstable. They’re hovering above the drop zone and experienced boss Quique Flores admits the situation is concerning, though he has been content with recent showings in their league outings.
Getafe desperately needs to put together a run of good results which won’t be easy with Barcelona, Betis, and Atlético after this match.
Quique Sánchez Flores has a full-strength Squad to select from barring the long-term injured midfielder, Mauro Arambarri.
Some minor rotation is possible. Juan Iglesias and Cristian Portu contest the wing-back spot on the left side, with Portu expected to get the nod.
Espanyol Summary
Espanyol comes into this contest in good mood and set on getting a positive result from Getafe.
They were slightly disappointed to settle for a 2-2 draw against Girona last time out. Diego Martínez is however pleased with the progress and the current squad.
Vini Souza is back from a suspension, but they are now missing left-sided defender Olivan who is now banned.
Cabrera meanwhile is set to miss out due to illness, leaving the club weaker on Sunday. The defender will however be given a fitness test on Sunday and has not been ruled out yet despite a lack of preparation all week.
Pedrosa, Keidi, Gori Gracia, and Pol Lozano all continue sidelined due to injury, although none are considered important.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first, where the favourite for this game is Getafe @ 2.5 to win. The draw is a very short price @ 2.90, meaning the punters are expecting a very tight affair. Espanyol is @ 3.25 to get an away victory.
Moving onto the Asian handicap market for this contest. Getafe -0.25 is @ 2.14 which looks fairly tempting considering their best performances come at home, and they also looked decent despite the loss in Sevilla. A draw would retain half of the stake, which is reassuring as it is hard to see Espanyol win. Espanyol’s ability to grind out points normally leads to tight games on the road, Each of their last three away league games ended 1-1. Espanyol +0.25 is @ 1.75.
Looking at The Under/Over market last of all which is very low at 2. It began even lower at 1.5, but punters had little interest in that line. Over 2 is @ 2.04 and Under is @ 1.80. The host struggle to find the net and Espanyol play ugly when away, so one to avoid with this line so low.
