Mallorca Summary

Mallorca ended what was largely a positive 2022 on a low note with an extremely flat performance in Getafe where they fell 2-0.

Manager Javier Aguirre has spoken about how important home games like this are, be it against clubs such as Valladolid which have similar levels and aspirations. Mallorca will be set on a victory here and anything less would be a setback.

Team news is mixed for the home side which regained some momentum and confidence with a solid 0-2 away cup win midweek.

Martin Valjent suffered a setback in training however and is a major doubt. He and Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta were banned in Getafe and the latter returns.

Baba was kept out of their preparation meeting for the game due to covid like symptoms so seems highly unlikely to be cleared by the weekend.

Real Valladolid Summary

Valladolid’s current mid-table position owes much to their home form and they took confidence and received credit for pushing Madrid so close last weekend.  The morale and confidence remain strong at the club.

Valladolid will travel with two new and very important absences as Javi Sánchez and Sergio León are missing due to a suspension. The banned duo makes up crucial parts of this modest squad and so Real Valladolid is considered much weaker than normal for the trip across to Mallorca.

Striker Sergio Leon is the more damaging absence, the crafty striker will miss two games for his straight red for dissent at home to Real Madrid. Weissman is out of form but forced into the lone attacker role here.

Sergio Escudero and Anuar remain out due to injury while Olaza and El Yamiq are big doubts.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first, where the favourite for this game is Real Mallorca @ 2.0. Real Valladolid travel in good enough spirits but their team news is of concern for punters. The away team is @ 4.20 to win and the draw is @ 3.35.

Moving onto the Asian handicap market for this contest which at the time of writing, holds no real value for those which expect a home win. Mallorca -0.5 is @1.96 and so punters should focus more on the 1×2 market if this is remains to be the case. Real Valladolid +0.5 have the draw onside as a full win for their backers, priced @ 1.90.

Looking at The Under/Over market last of all which has dropped from 2.25 to a lower than league average 2 goals.  Both clubs pride themselves on hard work and the belief is it could be an ugly battle. Valladolid are a stubborn team and may rely more on their defence than attack here where they miss star striker Sergio Leon. This is bad for Valladolid and a negative for goals too. Under 2 is @ 2.07 and the Over 2 is @ 1.78. If the match finishes with two goals in total, then all stakes are returned to the bettor.
