Manchester United v Real Betis – UEL Betting Preview
Manchester United Summary
Manchester United have experienced a giant high and a giant low in their last two big game outings.
Excluding the comparatively low-key game against West Ham (W3-1) which sandwiched the contrasting matches; United have gone from winning a League cup one weekend to being humiliated 7-0 by their hated rivals Liverpool the next.
Manchester will be desperate to bounce back and go one small step to getting the fans back onside by winning here.
The horror show against Liverpool on Sunday arguably hurt the fans pride as much as some of the squad. The players will know that they must put in a strong showing and win the game comprehensively
There was almost a sense of invincibility about the Ten Hag project having won the final at Wembley. However, losing in the shocking manner they did has seriously damaged the mood and the momentum at the club.
Motivation will be very high here to get back to winning ways and get them a step closer to the next silverware.
Manchester United has reasonably positive team news.
There are no suspensions but Eriksen and Martial out, both which would be starting in their best side.
The manager was furious with the lack of character and commitment shown in the second half at Anfield, and so some rotations would not surprise.
Real Betis Summary
Real Betis had a mini wobble in early February in La Liga, but have since regained their stride and come into this game with good confidence.
They held Real Madrid at home on the weekend and the mood is buoyant in the group heading to this high profile tie against the English giant.
Real Betis has bounced back from two defeats at the start of last month (Celta Vigo and Barcelona), with three consecutive wins before the 0-0 with Real Madrid on Sunday evening.
With this good run of form, the club has put itself right back in the thick of it for the chase for UEFA Champions League football next season.
This Manchester United tie has the green half of the city buzzing and motivation is excellent.
They will aim to avoid a loss in the first leg and finish the job at their own ground which is an extremely difficult venue to win for the opponent
Team news is mixed but mainly negative, much depends on whether one of their star men Canales is fit enough to begin.
If not, Real Betis has important injuries in creative areas as key man as Nabil Fekir is certainly going to be missing out.
Sergio Canales is rated 50/50 to begin, but almost certain to at least travel with the club. He was in particularly strong form before getting a knock a couple of weeks back.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first. Manchester United should be well motivated and the crowd, although still nursing wounds, will be behind the team. Man Utd is @ 1.42 to win
Betis is the big outsider @ 7.25.
Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Manchester -1.25 is @ 1.93. They will want a statement win and will want to win by at least two goals which is good for backers of this handicap.
Betis +1.25 @ 1.93 will be delighted with the draw or at the very least, to not lose by more than one goal.
Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all. 2.75 is the line, over is @ 1.87 and under is @ 1.95.
If Betis game plan works, the contest will be tight and low scoring. They are perceived as an ambitious and attacking side, but two reasons mean that they’ll be reactive and cautious here. Firstly, key creative men are carrying injuries and secondly is purely that they fear United.
