Rayo Vallecano vs Real Sociedad – Betting Preview
Rayo Vallecano Summary
Fresh off the back of ending a three-match winless run with a hard-fought win against Real Valladolid away, Rayo Vallecano now welcomes a much stronger opponent in Real Sociedad.
The league campaign is going great and the mood is positive. Confidence is very high also for Rayo but they would easily settle for a point in this match.
Rayo has good team news with boss Iraola able to call on almost his entire squad barring Oscar Valentin and Raul De Tomas. The midfielder Valentin is a big absence, reducing their strength in the centre of the pitch.
Raul De Tomas had only just returned from a very long-term absence, so more of a setback for him on a personal level rather than the team, who are used to playing without him.
Real Sociedad Summary
Real Sociedad is enjoying a great season so far and will eye another win here to keep pace with the top two and more importantly, keep control over 3rd spot in La Liga.
With the convincing win over Basque rivals Athletic and a midweek cup win, Sociedad has now clocked up eight consecutive wins in all competitions.
The confidence and morale are excellent this season but a loss here would be seen as a potentially heavy blow.
Imanol Alguacil has a few concerns heading into this potentially tricky contest.
David Silva and Sorloth didn’t train on Thursday and are considered minor doubts, while Zubimendi is missing with a suspension.
Adding to the midfield woes, Mikel Merino is also missing after a knock in the cup game. He could miss around three weeks of football.
This all means the Basques will be significantly weaker and dramatically so if either or both of those doubts don’t pass fit.
Turrientes, Barrenetxea, and Sola remain out along with potential season-ending injuries to Carlos Fernández, Umar Sadiq, and Merquelanz.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first where the favourite is Real Sociedad @ 2.45. The Basques have won their last eight in all competitions. Rayo Vallecano hasn’t beaten Sociedad in their last seven league meetings but they can bet on @ 3.15 to change that and win here. A draw meanwhile is similarly priced @ 3.15.
Moving onto the Asian handicap market for this contest. Real Sociedad -0.25 have won six of their eight away games so far, but team news favours the host. The away team is @ 2.08 and if they draw the game then the backer will only lose half of their stake. Rayo +0.25 are in a positive mood and could easily come away from this with a point, priced @ 1.80 with the draw onside as a half-win.
Looking at The Under/Over market last of all which is set low at 2. Over is looking tempting here considering both attacks with quality. Over 2 is @ 1.84 and Under 2 is @ 1.99. Should the match contain exactly two goals then the stake is returned.
