Real Betis v Real Valladolid – Betting Preview

Real Betis Summary

Real Betis picked up a highly entertaining and much-needed win over Almeria last time out, boosting their chances of European football for next season.

They had lost back-to-back home games in La Liga 2022/23 before the 2-3 victory on the east coast of Spain against Almeria.

Before the round begins, Real Betis occupy 5th place but with several clubs hot on their heels and ready to pounce if they drop points.

A win is a must here and a loss would be a disaster. The boss has however, expressed concerns about Valladolid’s big improvement coming into the contest.

Real Betis’ mood and confidence were harmed by two losses before beating Almeria, but the general outlook is positive, and the dressing room is also good.

Pellegrini can recall three starters from suspension and news is generally positive, but for the big absence of key striker Borja Iglesias.

The trio of returning players compensate for the injured centre forward, all of William Carvalho, Luiz Felipe, and Fekir return fresh and should enter the XI.

Juanmi is a capable replacement to lead the line but not as good and lacks the same physical presence. Former Newcastle and Leicester man Ayoze is the alternative.

Fringe men Juan Cruz and Paul Akouokou remain out.

Real Valladolid Summary

Real Valladolid is in a sensational mood and put several places between them and the bottom three thanks to a big upturn in form.

after gaining vital back-to-back wins against Valencia and Sociedad, they clocked up a respectable point with Osasuna last weekend. During this run of three matches, they have not conceded a single goal which has massively lifted the confidence and morale.

The club had been in woeful form before and just after the World cup pause, but 7 points from a possible 9 have gone a long way to make up for the previous months without a victory.

The improvement also repaid the faith the board showed in Pacheta, who was close to being fired when the team was in dire form.

The confidence is on the rise, but they are still fully aware that there is vital points at stake in order to stay up this season.

Team news wise, everything is positive for the visit to Seville. Only the fringe duo of Kenedy and Anuar are sidelined due to injury.

It looks very much set up for Valladolid to send out an unchanged side, and they merited a win over Osasuna (0-0) last time out, so it makes perfect sense.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. The 5th placed host are naturally big favourites here, Betis is @ 1.62 to win. Valladolid has improved notably in the last few weeks and could pull up a shock at a big @ 6.00 price. The draw is @ 3.90.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest, which offers nothing of interest and looks fair. Betis -0.75 is @ 1.79, with Valladolid +0.75 @ 2.09. The away team are capable of being stubborn and even grabbing a goal, so would be closer to them as I see a draw more likely than Betis winning by 2.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all where again, nothing attracts or stands out with the line set at 2.5 goals. Over is @ 1.98 and Under is @ 1.85. Betis is a more attractive team to watch and will do more of the attacking, especially when chasing the first goal. Valladolid by contrast will waste time and want to frustrate, they’d love a 0-0 but will take risks if behind.
