Real Mallorca v Elche – Betting Preview
Real Mallorca Summary
After a narrow loss to Espanyol last weekend Real Mallorca dropped down to 10th place in La Liga 2022/23. However, they remain without one win from pulling level with sixth placed Rayo Vallecano.
The morale and confidence are incredibly high and they have little to no fear of being dragged into any kind of relegation battle this season.
Hosting basement club Elche, the win is fully expected here and anything less would be a big disappointment.
Based around their superb pick up in form at their home stadium, the islanders are closer to the top six and the drop zone. There is a sense they are playing with carefree and with nothing to lose.
Aguirre is not keen to publicly entertaining any ambitions for European places, but a win here pulls them ever closer to that possibility.
Team news makes for very positive reading for Real Mallorca, as they have the entire squad available.
There is good competition for places in each line of the side, José Manuel Copete returns to the side having missed out with a heavy cold last time out.
Elche Summary
After their first win a three weeks ago against Villarreal, it has gone wrong and Elche are now resigned to playing in the second division next season.
They lost to Espanyol two weeks ago and then a crushing home loss to Betis last weekend, a game they led 2-0 for an hour.
Elche starts the weekend 15 points from safety and 13 points off 19th placed Getafe. In short, all but doomed to going down as the 20th placed side this season.
Elche are now playing for pride and the certain players will be playing for their places next season.
Team news wise and they remain without star man Pere Milla, and there are several new absences too.
The discipline for this club has been shockingly bad and it only worsens their struggles to get more points.
They had two reds last time out and with Pape Cheikh serving a ban for accumulated bookings, they have three men out to bans for the trip to Mallorca.
Enzo Roco and Magallán were the two that saw red against Real Betis and so miss out this match in the Balearic islands.
Diego Gonzalez has recovered from a knock and is cleared to play in the backline.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first. Real Mallorca are close to the top six and Elche are almost certain to finish a distant rock bottom in this league. The prices reflect this with Mallorca @ 1.76 which looks value if anything.
Elche has absences but the morale is more of a concern, they’re @ 5.50 while the draw us @ 3.50.
Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Mallorca -0.75 is @ 1.95 and so any win for the host pays as profit.
Mallorca has full strength and so there is little to put one off betting them. They tend to relish being underdogs most weeks, so will need to tweak the mindset and deal with being a big jolly here, not likely to cause them major problems. Elche +0.75 is @ 1.91.
Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all, with the line set at 2 which is tempting.
As I have noted in previous betting previews and reviews, Elche are more attacking of late but that tends to be in home games more so than on the road. Even still, would prefer the Over here as I could see Mallorca scoring at least twice. That alone would be enough to get the stake back. Over is @ 2.00 and Under is @ 1.85.
