Real Mallorca v Real Madrid – Betting Preview

Real Mallorca Summary

Real Mallorca is sitting in a very respectable and comfortable midtable position and the mood and confidence are strong at the club.

Despite enjoying a great run and plenty of distance between them and the bottom three right now, Real Mallorca is not getting ahead of themselves. They want to stay focused on the ultimate goal which is to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.

Aguirre will be delighted with a draw from this match and anything else is a huge bonus. They are on the heels of the European places but realistically, the islanders just want to stay well clear of the drop zone.

Team news wise, the only loss for the visit of Real Madrid is the suspended  José Manuel Copete. Recent signings that beef up the squad depth are all ready to be called up on the positive front. These are Morlanes, Augustinsson, and the experienced left-back Luna who may begin.

Nastasic is the man set to replace the only forced change of Copete, while the Mallorca press expects a defensive move in the midfield with Baba getting the nod to add protection to the back four. This backs up the expected view of the home side playing to contain the visitor, set to use a 5-4-1 without the ball.

Real Madrid Summary

Real Madrid could not overcome Real Sociedad last Sunday but at least were able to rip into Valencia during the second half. Thanks to a stunning second half, they cruised to an impressive midweek showing, securing a 2-0 win.

The mood around the club has been one of frustration and disappointment since the World cup, stemming mainly from the super cup loss to Barcelona plus dropped points versus Sociedad and Villarreal.

However, a win at a tricky venue in Mallorca will at least make sure they keep pressure on Barcelona, who faces Sevilla in an equally tricky match later in the day.

Ancelotti is without Mendy, David Alaba, and Lucas Vásquez once more, but the win midweek over Valencia came at a cost with both Benzema and Militao picking up new injuries.

Militao is out and will miss key forthcoming games including this, while Benzema is likely to be available but there are almost zero chances that Ancelotti risks him for this match.

This leaves Madrid much weaker and relying on Rodrygo, quick and talented he is, but without the same eye for goal and far from the same link-up ability as the French star.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. The market has Real Madrid at a fair-looking price of @ 1.76 to win. Mallorca is enjoying a great season and will be well motivated for this contest, they are @ 5.00 to win. The draw which also suits the islanders is @ 3.60.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this interesting match-up. Mallorca is well respected with Real Madrid only getting a -0.75 handicap. This means any kind of Madrid win pays out, though it needs to be a two-goal win for a full profit @ 2.00. Madrid would take any scrappy or narrow win here, they have a hectic schedule ahead and will not want to use too much energy with current injury concerns, this also negatively harms the prospect of goals both ends. Mallorca +0.75 is @ 1.86.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all, which has dropped based on Madrid’s legendary striker Benzema being all but ruled out. The goal line is down to 2.25 which makes sense considering how cautious Mallorca is when facing even the most average of opponent, which Real Madrid is not. Under 2.25 is @ 1.85 while the Over 2.25 is @ 1.98.
