Real Valladolid v Osasuna – Betting Preview

Real Valladolid Summary

Real Valladolid are in sensational mood and well above the bottom three after gaining a vital back-to-back wins against Valencia and then last weekend, a high-flying Real Sociedad.

These surprise victories ended a horrible run of five straight losses, with Pacheta repaying the board who backed when the team was in dire form.

The confidence and mood is much improved but they are still fully aware that there is vital points at stake in order to stay up this season. They will not fear Osasuna but will respect them enough to be content with a draw here.

Valladolid start the weekend in 13th position but only 3 points above the drop zone, so still nervously looking over their shoulder. The motivation is good with the crowd nearly sold out.

Team news wise, everything is positive for the home side.

Roque Mesa is back from a ban and starts. Fringe men Kenedy and Anuar are the only ones sidelined due to injury.

Osasuna Summary

Osasuna’s form has dropped off in recent weeks and now sit in 9th place before Saturdays matches have begun.

The spirits remain positive, and the objective continues to be staying up first and foremost, but a push for the top seven places in the league is a bonus.

They see this is a big chance to get a victory and keep pace with the top six places in La Liga, though more than anything it is a must not lose match.

Jagoba Arrasate is missing Abde due to a suspension but in some positive news, can recall versatile right sided player Ruben Pena from a long spell out. Osasuna remains without the other regular right-back Nacho Vidal, so Ruben Pena and youngster Moreno will complete to get the nod in that spot.

The bigger absence is Aimar Oroz, the attacking midfielder was a late scratch for the Atletico match two weeks back and remains out here.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. The slight favourite for this game is Osasuna @ 2.75. The reality is there is nothing between these two sides, with Valladolid suddenly back to form and playing at home in front of a near sell out which really get behind the team. Valladolid is @ 2.80 while the draw is @ 2.95. It is the kind of match which is prone to finishing all square.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. So close is the betting between these two well matched sides, the draw no bet (DNB) is offered as a cushion. So, a bet on either Valladolid -0 @ 1.94 or Osasuna -0 @ 1.92 would see the full stake returned should it end as a draw.

Looking at The Under/Over goal line last of all. The punters do not expect many goals or much entertainment from this match as the line dropped down significantly to 2 from 2.5. Over 2 is @ 1.88 and the Under is @ 1.94, would swerve this market as an early goal will force it open. The longer it stays 0-0, the more likely the first goal will win it, both will face this contest as a must not lose which is never good for goals.
