Sevilla v Real Mallorca – Betting Preview
Sevilla Summary
After back-to-back wins for Sevilla before their 3-0 thumping handed to them by Barcelona last weekend, the morale has dropped off a bit having been brought back down to earth by the league leaders.
In general though, Sevilla’s mood and confidence are much better than it was a couple of weeks ago, and they are not in the drop zone before any matches have begun.
Nobody is feeling safe yet in the club as they are only two points above the bottom three clubs, and still very much involved in a relegation battle.
A win here could send them into a relatively comfortable midtable, and that is very much the aim.
Sevilla has always shown good levels of commitment in matches, and the boss can recall club captain Jesus Navas here in a boost for the host.
On a negative note, Karim Rekik and Alex Telles are out, the latter was due back but suffered a new knock this week.
Mallorca Summary
Real Mallorca is sitting in a very and respectable comfortable midtable position, and the mood and confidence are excellent on the back of the win against Real Madrid.
Despite enjoying a fantastic run and creating a considerable distance between them and the bottom three, Real Mallorca is not getting ahead of themselves. The Islanders want to stay focused on the main goal which is to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
Aguirre will be pleased with a draw from this match and anything else is a bonus. They are on the heels of the European places but realistically, the islanders just want to stay well clear of the drop zone.
The experienced left back Jaume Costa is the only new absence for the visitor, with Augustinsson starting in his spot.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first. Sevilla suffered a little setback last weekend in Barcelona, but this is a game much more at their level. They can be backed as the favourite @ 2.00 to win. The draw is @ 3.10 while the Mallorca win is @ 4.50.
Sevilla -0.5 @ 1.96 will likely show notably more ambition compared to Real Mallorca +0.5 @ 1.900, a team that bases their game around aiming for clean sheets to get positive results. The home side will most likely need to score first to win and beat the handicap in full. No preference here.
Looking at the Under/Over goal betting last of all. Real Mallorca will aim to keep it tight and if their game plans works well, then it will stay very tight. 0-0 suits the away team as it will generate panic in the home crowd, and only an early Sevilla goal changes that. The line is set at 2, mainly because Mallorca is so strong defensively. Over 2 is @ 2.08 and Under 2 is @ 1.77. If the match has exactly two goals then all bets are pushed.
