Villarreal v Real Betis – Betting Preview
Villarreal Summary
Villarreal’s mood and confidence is much improved coming into this round after a highly impressive win over Almeria (2-0) last weekend.
That away win was on the back of a late home victory over Getafe and with these consecutive victories, the La Liga 2022/23 table suddenly makes much better reading for the yellow submarine.
Villarreal had been ousted from the top six but after the win last weekend, they are back in 6th place and remain well in the fight for European places.
Only a win here sees them in with a good chance at the top four which is the aim.
It almost feels like six points are at stake as Betis sit 4 points above them in 5th place before any Sunday games have begun.
The minimum target of this campaign is top six and but either way, this is a match they will be set on getting all three points. A draw is not a disaster.
Looking at team news now. Seiten has Trigueros back from a suspension and Giovani Lo Celso is match sharp and pressing for a start.
The former Spurs midfielder is highly respected at Villarreal. He is in fact an option to begin in this game against the club where he made his name, Real Betis.
Coquelin is definitely missing due to Injury and they will give Etienne Capoue every chance to pass fit after collecting a knock against Anderlecht.
Real Betis Summary
Real Betis had a mini wobble in early February but have since regained their stride and are in a strong league position.
They held Real Madrid at home last weekend but the confidence and mood took a tumble after the disappointing performance and loss in Manchester.
Having lost that game 4-1 in the first leg, the tie looks all but over for the Andalusians, piling pressure now on to making the top six.
In the league, the form is much more positive. The club has put itself right back in the thick of it for the chase for UEFA Champions League football next season.
Villarreal is a direct rival for the same objectives as them, and so it’s a game they will want to avoid a loss.
Looking at team news where Real Betis remain without key man Nabil Fekir.
Slightly improving creativity will be Sergio Canales return. He was only fit enough to play as a sub midweek in their humbling in Manchester but looks set to begin here
Carvalho is suspended which means they will be less defensive in the midfielder area, good for over backers.
On the left flank, Juanmi and Luiz Henrique are disputing who will begin the game. Henrique is the quicker and more direct player thanks to his dribbling edge. Juanmi is noted for his better end product, as highlighted by the passing accuracy, all shown below in the graphic.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first. The home side seem too short here to win @ 1.80. The draw is @ 3.90 while Betis winning is @ 4.40.
Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Villarreal give away a big -0.75 @ 2.01 start which is flattering as there is little to noting between these. Betis is +0.75 @ 1.86 is a slight preference based on value.
Looking at The Under/Over goal line last of all . Over 2.5 is @ 1.80. under is @ 1.95. Overs has to be the preference here, both have good finishers and it has the makings of one of the matches of the La Liga weekend.
