Looking at the 1×2 market first. Celta Vigo won as the favourite 2.15. As outlined in the preview, the sense is Rayo are flattered to be as high as they were and are on the decline. Rayo perhaps merited a goal but they struggled in defence, fair scores 2-1 and 3-1.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all. The first goal took some time, but as expected line being at 2 put it into betting range. Over won @ 1.80.
Match Summary
Thanks to a super effective second half showing from the home side, they raced away to an impressive 3-0 win.
The points came thanks to a superb individual showing from star man Iago Aspas, who grabbed a brace to lead his side to victory.
Rayo had plenty of the game and more of the first period, but once behind, they lost defensive shape and couldn’t ever get to grips with Iago Aspas.
With the win Celta de Vigo moved well clear of the competitive relegation area and continued their upward trend in 2023.
The form of Celta Vigo at the Estadio de Balaidos since 2023 has been something to admire. Indeed, this result and performance was remarkably similar to the 3-0 dismantling against Valladolid in their previous game at home.
However, it wasn’t lost on their delighted fans that this was a high flying top six chasing Rayo Vallecano on the end of the big victory.
Celta started brightly and Gabri Veiga went close early on.
The first half was even in reality however, as Lejeune came close on two separate occasions for Rayo.
Early in the second period the game was won and lost.
Celta Vigo scored twice in as many minutes to shock Rayo and all but secure the three points.
Iago Aspas finished Javi Galan’s cross to make it 1-0 and then seconds after the restart, the host got a 2nd.
From a Carles Pérez cross, Rayo defender Pathé Ciss deflected into his own net under pressure from Tomas.
Rayo never reacted well enough to generate much and Celta wrapped up the points on 85 minutes with man of the match Iago Aspas chipping over Dimitrievski.
It is the manner of the performance as much as the result which gives Carvalhal’s side a feeling of security that they are too good to go down. Indeed, if they continue to play this well then, they should be finishing mid to top half of the table.
