Elche 1-1 Real Valladolid – Betting Review

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first.  As tipped in this section of the preview, the draw was the value here @ 3.30. It was also the fairest result. Elche come out on top of all stats but this is mainly based on Valladolid scoring so early and sitting on their lead.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. the Draw no bet (DNB) was offered as a cushion, so all bets were pushed and full stakes returned.

Looking at The Under/Over goal line last of all. Regular readers of this site will know the view on Elche for the last month or more has been that goals are becoming more likely when they’re at home.

As was pointed out in the preview, the market has latched on to this and so the line wasn’t attractive at 2.25, so it was a pass. In the end it could have gone either way but Under was a half win / half push @ 1.96.

Match summary

Elche battled hard to earn a deserved but not particular useful point against Valladolid.

Cyle Larin scored very early and it seemed to be enough to secure Real Valladolid the three points at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, but Morente’s last gasp goal saved Elche a point.

The match lacked quality but there was a good amount of goal threat, mostly from the home side. This is not untypical of Elche home matches of late as pointed out in the under/over section of the betting analysis.

Elche need wins to have any real chances of staying up and so even though they snatched a last gasp leveller, they finished this game frustrated and if there was to be a winner, they merited it. Fair scores 1-1 and 2-1.

On all stats of important Elche comes out on top but for the score, which finished up 1-1.

One clear reason Elche led on key attacking stats was that Valladolid scored very early and then sat back.

A desperate home side threw everything they could muster at Valladolid, and they eventually turned pressure, shots and chances into a goal. It was, however, too little too late as they were set on three points.

Real Valladolid only needed four minutes to get their goal. Larin, who has been a key man for Valladolid since joining the club during the January transfer window, scored from inside the area. The shot deflected in, giving Larin his 4th goal since 2023

Valladolid then sat back, and the story of the game was Elche working pressure and decent opportunities.

Elche got better in terms of ideas and improved cutting edge as the second half progressed. After missing a couple of big chances, Morente finally came through to keep the rock bottom club alive a week longer, and levelled in the 96th minute.

The aftermath of the goal saw two red cards for Valladolid, with Roque Mesa and Martin Hongla both sent off.

Elche remains 12 points adrift from safety and all but down.

Valladolid won’t lose sleep over the draw but remain looking nervously over their shoulder.
