Getafe got themselves a vital and deserved win against a Sevilla side that rarely generated danger and made defensive mistakes, dropping to a 2-0 loss.
The defeat was one too many for the board at Sevilla, with Sampoli losing his job the following week.
The host had more quality chances and crucially, defended much better in a tight and physical encounter.
Against this former club, Munir El Haddadi had missed an earlier sitter but got the important goal early in the second half.
