Match Summary
Sevilla scored first and early in this game but thanks to a determined fightback from Girona, the visitor ended up losing the contest desperately. The goal may have come late but the host generated more scoring chances and merited this victory.
An early set-piece goal from Sevilla was against the run of play but ultimately counted for nothing. Girona hit back within a minute of the restart and then had further chances to win in an excellent second-half showing. the host deservedly grabbed all three points at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi. Fair score 2-1.
Despite a handful of defensive mishaps from Jorge Sampaoli’s men, Girona failed to punish a couple of early opportunities.

Sevilla was a little fortunate to be ahead but caught napping immediately in the second half. Good play down the right side by Girona led to a close-range finish by Stuani.
Girona initially continued to go for the second goal but Míchel’s men ended up squandering successive chances in the final quarter-hour.
Sevilla had good spells but struggled wot generate sustained pressure or work clear chances.
It was the Catalan club which finally grabbed a second goal in the 88th minute, thanks to a fantastic chip by substitute Yangel Herrera from the edge of the box.

Looking at the 1×2 market first. The favourite for this game was the home side Girona and, after a bad start, they stormed back in the 2nd half to win for backers @ 2.45.

Thanks however to a late strike for the home side it ended up with a 3rd goal, seeing the Over 2.25 backers @ 1.80 smiling wide. And in truth, Girona should have scored sooner.
