Osasuna 1-0 Real Mallorca – Betting Summary

Match Summary

In a very tightly contested and even game in Pamplona, Osasuna edged the contest 1-0 and in doing so, ended a three-game winless league run.

Osasuna moved up as high as 7th also with the victory at El Sadar. Aimar Oroz’s second-half strike was enough to secure the host a win as Mallorca never had the quality or guile to break down the home side once they had gone ahead.

With only two points separating the sides before kick-off, Osasuna’s first home game since the break was always likely to be a close one, and that is exactly how the contest panned out.

The first real chance of the match fell the way of Chimy Ávila, who fired over from just outside of the area.

With the visitors content to sit deep and play on breaks, Osasuna was finding it difficult to consistently generate good openings. Mallorca defended well and with aggression but rarely looked dangerous with the ball.

Against the run of play, Mallorca spurned the first real chance to take the lead. The Opening for the visitor came on the half-hour mark when left-back Jaume Costa sent his half-volley wide of the Osasuna goal.

The visitors may have proven to be hard to break down in the first period, but their resistance was broken within two minutes of the restart. Moi Gómez broke the lines, and he squared the ball for Aimar Oroz to unleash a fierce strike past Rajković.

Almost immediately, Mallorca went very close to restoring parity when Iddrisu Baba grazed the outside of the post.

Mallorca made many attacking moves but it was an Osasuna substitute that so nearly made an impact at 1-0, with Kike García driving his low shot just inches wide of the post.

Ultimately, a second Osasuna goal was not required as a blunt Mallorca attack eventually ran out of effort as well as ideas. Fair score 1-0.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 betting first. The favourite for this game was Osasuna who duly obliged @ 2.10 for backers of the jolly. They merited the narrow win and so the market was more or less right here.

Moving onto the Asian handicap market for this contest. Home side Osasuna were once more able to grab the full win for the punters of the favourite, winning the bet of Osasuna -0.5 @ 2.050. Mallorca didn’t generate anything to merit a goal and the best they could have hoped for was holding on to a 0-0.

Looking at The Under/Over market last of all which was right to be as low as it was before kick-off, set a 2. Under @ 1.78 won and to be fair, although the goal came midway through the match, a low-scoring-looking match it was.
