Rayo Vallecano 0-0 Celta Vigo: 1×2 betting results

Favourites Rayo Vallecano (2.20) failed to get the win on Thursday in Vallecas, sharing the points with the well-performing underdogs Celta Vigo, who merited the point. The draw was to be the winning selection on the 1×2 market, paying out at 3.25.

 Asian Handicap betting results

Rayo Vallecano -0.25 couldn’t break the deadlock against Celta Vigo and were forced to settle for a point, resulting in their backers losing half their stake. The home side didn’t get on top or seriously threaten to get a goal until the latter stages of the game.

Punters that put faith in Celta Vigo Asian Handicap line +0.25 @2.11 saw a little more than half their stake returned as profit. This is thanks to a well-balanced but ultimately stubborn defensive showing in Vallecas.

The visitor was as anticipated, focused on defending well and trying to score first. Celta demonstrated a decent attacking threat in the first period, missing the only good chance in an impressive opening half.

Under/Over Results

With no goals scored the game never got a chance to truly open up. As a result, Unders backers had a smooth ride. The market was correct in expecting a tight game with the line set at 2.25.

As mentioned in the preview, it was bound to be a contest where a goal was required to send this one to any ‘Overs’ bound match. The longer it stayed 0-0 the more nervous both sides became about conceding, particularly in the case of Celta Vigo.

Match Report: Rayo Vallecano 0 – 0 Celta Vigo

Rayo Vallecano was unable to build on their epic home win over Real Madrid, slumping to a disappointing 0-0 draw with struggling Celta Vigo.

Celta had more of the first half and came closest to scoring first. Gradually Rayo came alive as an attacking force and finished the contest strongly, missing a couple of big chances to grab a winner.

The visitor started the game stronger than their host and had the best opportunities in this period. Celta looked well-balanced in and out of possession and prevented the home side from generating any real momentum.

The focal point of the Celta attack initially was Paciencia who started the game with promise and threat, but he failed to take a clear opening from inside the box, slightly scuffing his effort before later being dragged off on the hour mark.

Rayo Vallecano woke up as an attacking force in the final 20 minutes or so, pushing more men into dangerous areas and becoming more direct. Playing this way and getting men into the box, they did create a couple of good scoring chances but couldn’t beat Celta keeper Marchesin.

In summary, a low-scoring draw is a fair result. The match overall was very even with shots on (3) and off-target (10 Rayo and 11 Celta Vigo) almost identical.
