Sevilla 2-3 Osasuna – Betting Review

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. Sevilla was the favourites because of home advantage and good form in front of their support in recent games. However, Osasuna raised their game and won @ 4.55.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Sevilla was my preference on the handicap, but they were a let-down and never got going,

With the draw onside, Osasuna +0.5 never fell behind and were comfortable winners with this handicap @ 1.93.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting for this match. The line dropped from 2.25 down to 2 which for me, fell into a range to bet the over @ 1.81. This won convincingly in the end, though worth noting Osasuna were far more attacking and ambitious than expected.

Match Summary

Sevilla was below par and always chasing the game against a more organised and sharper Osasuna. The game lacked quality but had plenty of mistakes, most of which came from the ragged and erratic host that ended up falling 2-3 to Osasuna.

This was Osasuna’s first league victory in six games following a highly entertaining 3-2 victory at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Osasuna were much more alert and organised from the start. More solid without the ball but also more effective with it, capable of working big chances or scoring goals in a bright first period.

Looking to register a sixth successive victory at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán across all competitions, Sevilla came close but Aitor Fernández pushed Erik Lamela’s curling shot away from danger.

A superior Osasuna had the first clear sight of goal from an unmarked header but the returning Bounou made a sensational save.

Osasuna were ahead from the resulting corner in the 18th minute as the menacing García rose majestically between Pape Gueye and Nemanja Gudelj to authoritatively head home the corner.

Not content with a slender lead, Arrasate’s side thought they had doubled their lead four minutes later, only for VAR to intervene and rule out Barja’s tap in for an offside in the lead up to the goal.

Sevilla were very ragged and not looking dangerous in the first period.

However, they came close to equalising within the opening three minutes of the second half, only for Fernández to somehow keep out En-Nesyri’s close-range header.

Sevilla were level in the 63rd minute when Gudelj let loose a spectacular long-range strike that flew in for 1-1.

Nonetheless, Osasuna did not let their heads drop and were fortuitously back ahead five minutes later with a rare Bounou mistake. His mistimed punch struck his own defender (Fernando) in the back and it dropped in for 1-2

After hitting the outside of the post eight minutes earlier, there was no stopping En-Nesyri from bringing Sevilla back level. The tall striker scored a fine goal to make it 2-2.

At this stage it seemed like Sevilla would escape with a draw despite looking at best, erratic but dangerousAt worse, like headless chickens lacking all control.

It was not to end all square however, as Osasuna had the final laugh as second-half substitute Abde  clinically despatched beyond  Bounou for 2-3 to Osasuna.

Sevilla remain only two points above the relegation zone after suffering their first home league defeat since November 9.
