Villarreal 2-1 Getafe – Betting Review
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first. I felt a declining Villarreal looked too short and opposable @ 1.68. however, in the end they did just enough to win courtesy of a strong second half showing.
Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Villarreal got a half profit success for their backers, winning -0.75 @ 1.88. Getafe led and had big chances at 0-1 and then hit the bar in added time; their backers can feel a little aggrieved not to have got a win here.
Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all. The Line was at 2.25 and the Over won @ 2.01.

Villarreal to their credit came out stronger and inspired by their scoring winger, who brilliant assisted what was to be the winner early in the second period. Getafe fought until the end and hit the bar in added time. Fair scores 2-2 and 2-1.
With this much needed and confidence boosting win at the Estadio de la Cerámica, Villarreal ended their four-game losing streak.
Having got their first win in 2023 against Valencia, a confident Getafe side cruised to take the lead on 9 minutes. The goal came from former Villarreal striker Enes Ünal. He leaped high to meet Djené’s impressive cross.
Despite knitting quality passes in the middle-third, Quique Setién’s side couldn’t generate too much in the first half, as Getafe set up well to guard their lead.
The visitor looked set to go 0-2 ahead via Nemanja Maksimovic’s header, but Pepe Reina executed a brilliant save to keep his then struggling side in the match.
Soon after Samuel Chukwueze fired home on a rebound to draw level which felt fortunate for the home side.
The Yellow Submarines were the ones with the momentum going into the second half and they soon grabbed the lead. It came just seven minutes into the second-half from José Luis Morales finish, though the goal owed much to Chukwueze’s brilliant run down the right side.
Quique Sanchez Flores made attacking subs and the team went from being defensive to very much risk taking and all out attack. They smashed the bar from Borja Mayoral’s exquisite volley, and 2-2 would not have been unfair at all.
