Former Manchester United youth player Largie Ramazani left the club to join Spanish side Almeria. The young Belgian forward is starting to settle in Spain and is looking for a breakthrough season that could earn him a move to a top European club or even back to Manchester United. Ramazani had made his debut for the Red Devils but reportedly disagreed with signing a deal and left the club.
Almeria managed to stay in the LaLiga in 2022–23 and finished just above the relegation zone. This season, they are currently sitting at the bottom of the table. Despite all these struggles, there is a ray of hope because of the performances of some of the players, including Ramazani. He carries a bit of a threat down the flanks, and here are some of the stats that show why this Belgian is heading for a breakthrough season.
Largie Ramazani is a left winger who can also play on the right flank and even lead the attack. In the last two seasons combined, the player has featured in these three positions for Almeria. A team like Almeria, which is struggling to survive, often finds it difficult to create plays. The forward players are sometimes unable to make their mark and often stay on the back foot.
Creativity down the flanks
As mentioned earlier, Ramazani can play on both flanks, and his progressive runs also show the same. The Belgian has made 78 progressive runs in the LaLiga 2022–23 and 2023–24 combined. Ramazani enjoys a decent success rate in the mid-40s when it comes to dribbles. It can be observed that most of the dribbles have been completed on the edge of the penalty box by the player. Most of these progressive runs are penetrating the opposition penalty box and creating trouble for the defence.
In the current season, the 22-year-old has already registered three assists and is close to adding another. Ramazani only provided one assist in the entire 2022–23 campaign. A total of seven shot assists have been made by the player, with five coming from the favoured left side. His three assists came from some dangerous deliveries into the scoring zones. Of these three assists, two have landed in the six-yard box.
Over the two seasons, Ramazani has attempted 59 shots, and the accuracy rate is around 40%. Ramazani has targeted the centre or the right side of the keeper. One area where the player will look to improve is getting closer to the six-yard box.
Largie Ramazani has a huge task in hand as he will look to ensure Almeria’s safety. If he performs at the top level then there is a chance that he might get an offer from a club regularly playing in Europe.
