The 22-year-old attacker was allegedly spotted partying on the streets of Belgrade when he must have been self-isolating.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has struck out at Luka Jovic over claims that the Real Madrid striker broke a quarantine order in his homeland.

The 22-year-old ahead, who moved into the Santiago Bernabeu in the summertime from Eintracht Frankfurt, was alleged to have been spotted partying in the streets of Belgrade after returning to his homeland to celebrate the birthday of his girlfriend.

Serbian players had been urged to refrain from returning home in an attempt to prevent the spread of this virus, which has infected over 225,000 people throughout the world, leading to over 9,000 deaths.

Spain has been especially hard hit by the pandemic, which has resulted in the virtual lockdown of the whole country, with over 17,000 cases and 767 deaths.

“We have adverse examples of our footballers, that are paid very well, ignoring mandatory self-isolation upon returning home,” Brnabic said of the participant’s actions, based on AS.

With reports of over 45,000 individuals returning home, with many ignoring isolation orders, Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said: “We’ve written criminal reports against a number of those famous athletes. These individuals will react when the court decides that the time has come for that.”

Real Madrid players and team find themselves quarantined after the discovery that basketball player Trey Thompkins tested positive for the illness.

Jovic has however taken to Instagram to discuss information he was given permission from the club to return home during the catastrophe.

“Last Thursday, head of Real Madrid’s medical team gave Luke Jovic consent to go to Serbia (on private medical prescription) and quarantine in his own residence,” the article read.

Having been so successful at the Bundesliga last year, he’s managed only two goals and two assists for Madrid in 24 outings, resulting in reports that head coach Zinedine Zidane is looking for different alternatives to supplement Karim Benzema in the forefront of his assault.

Madrid’s season has been riddled with inconsistency and they find themselves two points behind league leaders Barcelona at the Primera Division.

Their Champions League hopes are on a knife-edge when they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City within their last-16 first-leg tie, which was played at the Bernabeu.
