Whilst there is a full schedule of La Liga fixtures to take place, Real Madrid are going to still have an additional game in hand on leaders Real Sociedad once the weekend is over.
However, Carlo Ancelotti will want his side to make sure that they use the opportunity that they have on Sunday to put as much pressure on the team above them in the table and force them into a mistake.
Of course, this weekend sees Los Blancos travel south and take on Granada, however if the price of 19/40 available at Betway Sportsbook is anything to go by, then it would seem that they will have an enjoyable trip.
Real Madrid have been made strong favourites to overcome the La Liga strugglers on Sunday, with their opponents only just outside the relegation zone, courtesy of a better goal difference compared to Elche.
The Spanish giants are currently on a good run of form at the moment and their 2-1 win against Rayo Vallecano prior to the international break meant that they would be able to resume La Liga action in a good position this weekend.
Real Madrid will not be without their injury concerns, though, with Los Blancos having a number of players currently unavailable or being considered to be a major doubt for the trip to Southern Spain.
On the current injury list is Dani Ceballos, who will definitely miss the game as he continues to recover from the ankle issue that he picked up at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Federico Valverde is one of a handful of players who are considered to be major doubts for the contest. The midfielder suffered a knock to his knee in the El Clasico win against Barcelona but has returned to training recently.
Rodrygo is another who falls into the ‘major doubt’ category as the Brazilian is looking to recover from a hamstring injury that he picked up whilst playing against Elche last month. It is unlikely he will feature against Granada as it would be safe to assume that enough time has not passed since he sustained the knock.
Lastly, Mariano Diaz is another who could find it difficult to feature against Granada as well, as he suffered a nose injury in the clash against Elche. He broke his nose in this fixture and it is unlikely we’ll see him on Sunday.
Given the injury list that Real Madrid currently has, they would have to feel comfortable about their chances of obtaining a victory over the weekend with the plethora of superstar talent that Ancelotti has at his disposal.
