Karim Benzema has not been available for Real Madrid for some time. The Frenchman suffered an injury in the Champions League opener against Celtic and was forced off the field after 30 minutes.

He has not kicked a ball since. Los Blancos, on the other hand, have received a boost in his recuperation.

Real Madrid do not have the best striker depth, with Mariano Diaz being out of first-team plans at the moment. As a result, the fans’ worst nightmare came true when Benzema was injured against Celtic.

To cover Benzema’s absence, players such as Eden Hazard and Rodrygo have played as false nines. But today there appears to be some positive news surrounding the Frenchman.

As reported by AS, these two weeks without club football have been used as a mini pre-season for Benzema. No risks have been taken till now and he will increase the volume from next week.

It goes without saying that this is a positive development for Real Madrid, since it appears that Benzema is nearing full fitness and may be ready to return after the international break.

In truth, Real Madrid might have taken the chance and fielded him against Atletico Madrid in the derby, but the prudent decision was made and he was given some more time off to properly heal.

His absence has had little impact on Real Madrid. While they appeared to be labouring forward at times, the goals came from a variety of sources, and they ultimately won all of their games in La Liga, which is what matters most.

Now, one can only hope that Benzema is fit and back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Deschamps on Tchouameni

French national team coach Didier Deschamps has talked in an interview with Telefoot, where he was asked to give his thoughts about midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The young player has been impressive for Real Madrid so far, and he’s also an undisputed starter for Deschamps.

“Aurelien is still young but he has it all. Apart from what he can do on the field, his mind is also ready for that,” he said.

Tchouameni has established himself as one of Europe’s best midfielders, not only because of his defensive abilities, but also because of his ability to distribute the ball and provide key assists.

Much was said when Real Madrid opted to spend more than €80 million on his signing this summer, but Tchouameni’s performances have proven his naysayers wrong.
